Children & Families

Chailey Commons Society has been looking to increase the number of events it provides for families and children and for Spring 2024, is very pleased to offer two exciting activities, notably a Spring Trail and an Arts & Crafts afternoon of which further details are listed below.

Please watch this space and our calendar of activities for further activities during the year.

Visit our Spring Trail!

29 March to 10 April 2024 on Memorial Common

Come and explore the beauty of Chailey Commons by following our Spring trail. Look for clues along the way and solve the anagram to enter a prize draw for the chance to win:

  • £20 voucher to spend with Newick Tandoori,
  • Family of 4 entry to Monkey Bizness,
  • Lots of arts and crafts packs for kids.

All proceeds will go towards new outdoor equipment at Chailey St. Peters School.

About the trail

The trail starts at Memorial Common car park and follows the main path around the Common. It is approximately 0.8 miles long. Walk onto the playing fields and with your back to the car park, head diagonally right to the gate at the far side of the field. Follow the arrows on the map and look out for signs and clues to show you are on track.  There are 8 pictures to find of animals and wildlife that live on the Common. Right down the first letter of each one and at the end unscramble the letters to make a word.
