Volunteering

Volunteering with us is a great way to learn new skills, meet local, like-minded people and get plenty of fresh air and outdoor exercise! Particularly during the autumn and winter months, we arrange a number of work parties that cover coppicing, litter picking, path repair, pond work, building leaky dams and making besom brooms from cut birch. Some of our upcoming volunteering activities are listed in our ‘Activities’ tab but if you would like more details please email .

Sturdy boots and old clothes are essential but gloves, hi viz vests, helmets and tools are all provided and even more importantly, biscuits and sometimes cake too!

There are also volunteering opportunities regarding our four Exmoor ponies that graze the Commons, where we have a rota of pony and fence checkers. If you would be interested in joining this or would like further information please contact .
